The Mission of the Cumberland Trails United Way is to strengthen the capacity of the organizations that provide community-building services and have a positive community impact in the tri-state area.

Through a single community-wide campaign, the Cumberland Trails United Way raises funds, primarily in the workplace, for the purpose of funding a wide variety of health, human care, and developmental agencies.

Our trained, knowledgeable, volunteer Fund Distribution Committee then determines the needs of the community and effectively distributes the funds to the agencies who can best meet those needs. They can respond to the changing social needs by shifting funding to appropriate services and programs.

Today the United Way is much more than just a fundraiser, we are a community builder. We help pull together coalitions of people and coordinate them to resolve the critical problems that impact our community.

In our role of community builder, the Cumberland Trails United Way offers "venture grants" to provide seed money to newly developing community agencies and emergency funds for meeting the unexpected community needs.

The support provided by Cumberland Trails United Way ensures the availability of network services for all segments of the community, emphasizing careful assessment of the community's needs, responsible fundraising and efficient allocation of funds.
